Jidhafs Maternity Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It was opened in October 1980. The initial capacity of the hospital was 34 maternity beds. In July 1984,
the operation theater was opened, and the first caesarean section was performed on July 4, 1984. The hospital’s outpatient clinics for obstetrics and gynecology were opened on December 18, 2012, and currently the number of patients is between 1000 -1450 per month.
The hospital is keen to provide high-quality medical services to a wide range of obstetrics and gynecology, and by reducing pressure on the delivery unit in Salmaniya Medical Complex.
The hospital went through major expansion projects and construction operations, the most important of which are:
Between 1989-1990, the following projects were implemented:
1. Construction of postpartum ward No. 4 with a total of 23 beds.
2. Construction of postpartum ward No. 5 with a total of 25 beds.
3. Building the laboratory, pharmacy, and kitchen.
4. Expansion of Ward No. 3 (Children’s Section).
Between 2018-2020, the following projects have been implemented:
1. Expansion of the patient admission unit so that the capacity of the place increases from 2 to 6 treatment beds.
2. Expanding and equipping the labor and delivery unit (operating room) to include 9 treatment beds.
3. Maintaining and equipping all pre and postnatal wards. Currently, the hospital has a capacity of 91 beds, including 20 beds for newborns.

Reviewing private health records files for inpatients and outpatients.
